Velocity Solar is owner-run and was founded in 2011 by A-grade electrician Brad Ott. We have completed 4,500+ solar and battery installs since 2011, and we work across Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine with our own in-house installation crews and no subcontractors.

How long have you been installing solar?

Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every system is designed and installed by our own crews, never subcontractors. Our installers are SAA-accredited, and we are a Tesla Powerwall Premium Certified Installer and a NETCC Approved Seller.
Which batteries do you install?
Our main battery is the Sigenergy SigenStor. We also install the Tesla Powerwall 3, GoodWe batteries and the Fronius Reserva, and we help you choose the one that suits your home and power use.
What does solar or a battery cost?
As of October 2026, a typical 6 to 7 kW solar system installed by Velocity Solar costs about $9,700. Adding a Tesla Powerwall 3 to solar you already have typically costs about $11,900, and solar with an 18 kWh or larger battery installed together typically costs $26,900 to $27,600. Do you service systems installed by companies that have closed?
Yes. We do more than 200 maintenance jobs a year, and many are on systems put in by installers that are no longer trading. We check systems, find faults and replace inverters. See solar system maintenance.
Do you install heat pump hot water in Geelong?
