Solar and batteries across the Surf Coast Shire
From Torquay and Jan Juc to Winchelsea, Moriac and Aireys Inlet
The Surf Coast is really two areas. Along the coast, from Torquay to Aireys Inlet, the job is about salt air, holiday homes and tight two-storey roofs. Inland, around Winchelsea, Moriac, Bellbrae and Deans Marsh, it is acreage, sheds and longer cable runs, often in a bushfire overlay.
We install across both. On rural blocks we often mount panels on a shed and run power to the house, and we check the property’s Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating so the equipment and its location meet the building rules.

What a Surf Coast customer said
“Velocity Solar has now installed both solar and batteries at our home, with their service and communication being excellent from quote to completion. With the current rush to get batteries installed, I really wanted to avoid any issues of going with a less reputable installer and was happy I went with Luke and the team at Velocity as the process was pain free and professional.”

Surf Coast solar and battery FAQs
Can you install solar on a shed on a Surf Coast acreage?
Yes. On rural Surf Coast blocks around Winchelsea, Moriac and Bellbrae we often put panels on a shed roof or a ground frame and trench the cable to the house. Longer cable runs and trenching add cost, so we quote these after seeing the site.
Does a bushfire overlay affect a solar or battery install?
It can. Much of the inland Surf Coast and the Otways fringe has a Bushfire Management Overlay. We check your BAL rating and follow the battery installation standard on where a battery can be mounted, which sometimes means a separate enclosure or a different wall.
Do you cover the whole Surf Coast Shire?
Yes, from Torquay and Jan Juc through Anglesea and Aireys Inlet to Lorne, and inland to Winchelsea, Moriac, Bellbrae and Deans Marsh. Our own crews do every job; we do not hand Surf Coast work to subcontractors.
