Velocity Solar started in Geelong in 2011, and we have never worked anywhere else. From our base in Moolap, we have watched the industry move through three rebate schemes, a battery boom, and a long list of companies who turned up, undercut everyone, and disappeared before the warranty period was out.

Our approach has not changed in that time: do it once and do it right. Every system is custom designed for the roof it is going on and the way the household actually uses power, not pulled off a price list.

Our own crews do the work, our own electricians sign it off, and we are still the people you call in five years. That is the whole business model.

Four wins in a row is not a marketing exercise. It reflects thousands of installs assessed on the quality of the work itself, which is the only measure that matters once the salesperson has gone home.

Since the federal battery rebate arrived in July 2025 we have installed 472 home batteries. Around 80 per cent of the systems we sell now include storage, up from roughly 40 per cent in the years before it.

That shift has changed how we design. A battery only pays for itself if the array, the inverter and the household’s usage pattern are sized to work together, so every quote we write starts with your actual consumption data rather than a stock package.

We install Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy and BYD systems, and we will tell you honestly if a battery does not stack up for your household yet.

We employ 16 installers and six in-house electricians, and we run an average of four crews a day across the region, plus dedicated service, maintenance and heat pump teams.

Keeping the trade in-house is the only way we can genuinely stand behind an installation years after it has been signed off. There is no subcontractor to chase and no finger pointing when something needs attention.

Between our owner, general manager, sales manager and installation manager there is more than 40 years of combined experience in renewable energy, with our founder approaching two decades in solar. That depth is why the harder jobs, off-grid, commercial and awkward retrofits, tend to find their way to us.

75 per cent of our enquiries come from people who have already dealt with us. Past customers, their neighbours and family, and the builders and referral partners we work alongside.
