Our Moolap workshop sits at the gateway to the Bellarine, so the peninsula is home turf. The bay-side towns of Portarlington, St Leonards and Indented Head have a lot of older beach houses and retirement homes; Drysdale and Clifton Springs have grown with newer estates; and Queenscliff has heritage streets where panel placement needs more care.
Bay-side homes still get salt air, though less than the ocean side, so we use coastal-rated fixings across the peninsula. In Queenscliff’s heritage overlay we look for roof faces that are not visible from the street and check with the council if a permit is needed.

Bellarine north: Drysdale, Clifton Springs, Portarlington and Queenscliff
Across these four towns our rebate records show 33 installs in Clifton Springs and 18 in Drysdale since 2016, 40 in Portarlington since 2016 and 12 in Queenscliff since 2015. Living in the Bellarine Peninsula
The Bellarine Peninsula is the stretch of coast and countryside between Geelong and the mouth of Port Phillip Bay, taking in towns like Queenscliff, Portarlington, Point Lonsdale, Drysdale, St Leonards and Clifton Springs. It’s genuinely two coastlines in one — sheltered bay beaches on the northern side facing Melbourne, and rougher ocean beaches on the Bass Strait side near Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff.
It’s also one of Victoria’s fastest-growing wine regions, with a cluster of vineyards and cellar doors around Bellarine and Wallington, alongside a tourism economy built around the historic Queenscliff township and the car-and-passenger ferry connecting Queenscliff to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.
Because it covers such a wide area with different housing styles — from historic Queenscliff cottages to newer estates around Drysdale and Clifton Springs — there’s no single “Bellarine” solar system. What works on a heritage-overlay home in Queenscliff is different to what works on a newer build in Drysdale, and we design around whichever end of that spectrum your home sits on.

Do you install solar in Drysdale and Clifton Springs?
Yes, regularly. We have installed at more than 50 Drysdale and Clifton Springs addresses since 2016, including several solar and battery systems in 2026. Our Moolap workshop is about 15 minutes away, so service visits are quick too.
Can I put solar on a heritage home in Queenscliff?
Usually, yes. Queenscliff has a heritage overlay, so panels are best placed on roof faces that cannot be seen from the street. We look at this at the site visit and, where a planning permit may be needed, tell you before you commit.
Can I add a battery to the small solar system my builder installed?
In most cases. Many Bellarine estate homes have a 2 to 3 kW builder system. We can add panels, replace the inverter with a hybrid, or fit a battery with its own inverter, depending on what you have. We check the existing gear at the site visit first.
