How much rebate do I get on a Powerwall 3?
At today’s certificate prices the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate takes about $3,450 off a 13.5 kWh Powerwall 3. Batteries earn 6.8 certificates per usable kWh until 31 December 2026 and 5.7 from 1 January 2027, so the same Powerwall will attract a smaller rebate next year. We take it off your price up front, and our battery rebate calculator shows the figure for two or more units.
Is Velocity Solar a certified Tesla Powerwall installer?
Yes. Velocity Solar is a Tesla Powerwall Premium Certified Installer. Our own employed electricians, who hold SAA accreditation, design and install every Powerwall, and we do not use subcontractors. We have been installing solar and batteries in Geelong since 2011, with more than 4,500 installs.
Will a Powerwall 3 work with my existing solar?
Usually. Powerwall 3 has a built-in solar inverter with three solar inputs, so it can run new panels directly, and it can also be added alongside an existing solar system. Will a Powerwall 3 run my home in a blackout?
Yes, with the backup equipment fitted. Powerwall 3 supplies up to 10 kW of continuous power and can start motors drawing up to 185 A, enough for most household loads. How long it lasts depends on what you run: 13.5 kWh at about 1 kW of load is roughly 13 hours before solar recharges it. We confirm which circuits are backed up in your quote.
