Local SigenStor Installs You Can Trust
When you choose Velocity Solar for your Sigenergy SigenStor, your system is designed and fitted by our own in-house installation crews — never subcontractors. We’ve been installing solar and battery systems across Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine since 2011, with more than 4,500 installs completed and counting.
That local, hands-on experience means your SigenStor is sized and positioned for your home, your roof and your energy use — and backed by a team you can actually get on the phone here in Geelong.
Why SigenStor is the battery we install most
About three in every four home batteries our team installs are Sigenergy. Most of the rest are Tesla Powerwall 3 (about one in five) and GoodWe (about one in twenty), and for homes that already have solar we also fit BYD and Fronius batteries as retrofits. Here is why SigenStor leads:
- Seamless on three-phase. SigenStor handles single-phase and three-phase homes equally well, which suits larger homes, farms and small businesses.
- Genuine off-grid, with a generator. SigenStor supports a backup generator, which is why it is the battery we use for off-grid homes. See our Inverleigh off-grid home and shed.
- Modular stacking. Battery modules stack on top of each other, so we size the battery to your home rather than to fixed steps, and stacks can run side by side for bigger systems.
- Tidy and quick to install. Inverter and battery sit in one stacked unit, which keeps the install neat.
It is also what our founder chose for his own home, alongside REC and AIKO panels and a Sigenergy EV charger.
We won’t install anything we don’t back up, and we handle warranty claims with the manufacturer for you. Comparing brands? Read SigenStor vs Powerwall 3 vs GoodWe.
Recent SigenStor Installs Around Geelong & the Bellarine
Here are a few genuine Sigenergy SigenStor systems our in-house crews have installed for local homeowners. Each one was sized for the home and roof it sits on — so the figures below are the actual system specs and the solar each system generated in its first year, from its Sigenergy monitoring.
Moolap — September 2025
A local homeowner in Moolap had our team install a 21kW solar system paired with a 48.4kWh SigenStor battery (6 modules). The system generated about 25,800kWh of solar in its first year — plenty of storage to shift daytime solar into the evening.
Highton (20.7kW) — September 2025
For a home in Highton, our installation team fitted a 20.7kW solar system with a 40.3kWh SigenStor battery (5 modules), which generated about 24,600kWh of solar in its first year and keep the household running well into the night.
Barwon Heads — September 2025
A local homeowner in Barwon Heads went with a 23.5kW solar system and a 40.3kWh SigenStor battery (5 modules), which produced about 22,600kWh of solar in its first year — a solid setup for a larger coastal home.
Sigenergy SigenStor in Geelong FAQs
How much does a Sigenergy SigenStor cost in Geelong?
Adding a SigenStor of about 18 kWh (two modules) to existing solar typically costs about $13,500 with Velocity Solar, and 27 to 45 kWh about $17,000, including GST and after the federal battery rebate. Solar with an 18 kWh SigenStor typically costs about $26,900. These figures come from our own recent installs; see the price guide for the ranges.
What size SigenStor do I need?
SigenStor is modular: battery modules stack up to about 54 kWh per stack, and stacks can run in parallel. New installs use Sigenergy’s 9 kWh module (8.76 kWh usable); systems we installed before mid-2026 used the earlier 8 kWh module (7.8 kWh usable). Most of our recent Geelong customers chose three to five modules (about 27 to 45 kWh with the current module), because the federal rebate pays the full rate on the first 14 kWh and 60% up to 28 kWh, so extra capacity costs less than you might expect. We size it from your evening use and any EV charging.
Can a SigenStor work with my existing solar?
Often, yes. SigenStor has its own hybrid inverter, so new panels connect to it directly, and many existing systems can stay in place alongside it. Where panels are old we often replace them at the same time: recent Highton, Grovedale and Barwon Heads jobs swapped tired systems for new panels plus a SigenStor. We check your current inverter first.
Can a SigenStor charge my electric car?
Yes, if you choose the SigenStor with the built-in DC EV charger module. It charges your car from solar or the battery, and the system is designed for vehicle-to-home use where your car supports it. A recent Highton install paired 12.25 kW of panels with a 24 kWh SigenStor and the built-in EV charger.
How much rebate do I get on a SigenStor?
At today’s certificate prices the federal rebate takes about $5,510 off a three-module SigenStor (26.28 kWh usable). Batteries earn 6.8 certificates per usable kWh until 31 December 2026 and 5.7 from 1 January 2027, with the full rate on the first 14 kWh, 60% from 14 to 28 kWh and 15% from 28 to 50 kWh. Our battery rebate calculator shows your size. To get the current 6.8 certificates per kWh, your battery needs to be installed and signed off by 31 December 2026. Talk to us early if you’re aiming for this year. What changes on 1 January. Rebate figures checked October 2026.
Who installs SigenStor batteries on the Surf Coast and Bellarine?
Our own employed crews, never subcontractors. SigenStor is the battery we install most, and recent jobs include Barwon Heads, Portarlington, Clifton Springs, Anglesea, Apollo Bay, Highton and Mount Duneed. We have installed solar and batteries across Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast since 2011. See all the areas we service.
