What the homeowner wanted

Solar and battery storage in a single, tidy system, with enough solar to run the home by day and charge the battery for the evening.

What we installed

The Powerwall 3 has a solar inverter built in, so the panels connect straight to it and there is no separate inverter on the wall.

  • 30 x REC Alpha Pure-RX 450 W solar panels (13.5 kW)
  • Tesla Powerwall 3: 13.5 kWh battery with a built-in 10 kW solar inverter
  • Installed by our team: designed and installed by our installation team.

Results so far

In the 12 months from 8 October 2025 to 8 October 2026 the system generated 15,770 kWh of solar energy, and the Powerwall discharged 3,540 kWh into the home.

Over the same year the home used 13,230 kWh and drew 4,570 kWh from the grid, so about 65% of the home’s electricity came from its own solar and battery. A further 7,010 kWh of surplus solar was exported to the grid.
